WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation, and they’re determined to find and share opportunities to feed the world in a way that works with nature, not against it.

A dynamic online tool designed to inspire informed choices and drive positive change in the way we produce and consume food.

WWF accumulated a comprehensive scientific assessment of how dietary shifts in 147 countries would affect the worlds environment and human health. We partnered up to design and develop a science-based platform to support their objectives of encouraging diets that are good for people and planet.

Intuitive sliders, interactive infographics and an informative user journey was pivotal to helping audiences effectively understand the impact to each country’s environment and how they can take the most informed actions to create the biggest impact, all whilst considering the nutritional value of their diet.

A central hub of tools, resources, and insights designed to support and advance sustainable urban food systems.

With the majority of the world’s population set to live in urban areas, cities offer the perfect arena for action. WWF’s goal is to accelerate the creation of sustainable urban food systems by consolidating and spreading key resources for practitioners globally.

We created a living library of tools, guides, and case studies from WWF and their partners to empower citizens, practitioners, and policymakers in shaping sustainable urban food systems.

The Great Food Puzzle focuses on simplifying the complexities of the global food system by using the best available science to identify place-based solutions with the highest potential for impact. We were challenged with creating a feature rich online platform that balances 20 transformation levers, 3 impact solution potentials, the ability to search over 150 countries across 6 food system types.

What we did

The progressive adaptation of wireframes allowed us to collaboratively realise a hierarchy of information that was in the best interest of discovering relevant and high impact solutions within the users favourite topics.
With this project the third of its kind for WWF, we ensured there was a visual consistency between this series of food related online tools.

It was a great experience working with Smithfield in putting together WWF’s Planet-Based Diets impact calculator. Smithfield went above and beyond to build a user friendly, smart, innovative and informative tool, which has received rave reviews from around the world.
